01 – Dassam Falls

The Dassam Falls is a waterfall situated near Taimara village in Bundu police station of Ranchi district. The fall which is across Kanchi river is beautiful, falling from an height of 144 feet. The water of the Dassam Falls is very clean and clear. It is natural for a tourist to be enticed to enter the water for a bath or swim but tourists are warned not to do so because of the current that is generated.

02 – Tagore Hill

The Tagore Hill also known as Morabadi Hill is situated in Morabadi. It is around 300 feet high and 4 KM from Albert Ekka Chowk. The hilltop has a long associated history with the revered poet and Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Rabindranath Tagore’s elder brother Jyotirindranath Tagore settled here in 1912 after the death of his wife, Kadambari Devi. He built a house named Shanti Dham and a monument named Brahma Sthal. This place attracts devotees in large numbers during the Hindu festival Shivaratri and Savaan. You need to climb 468 steps to arrive here.

03 – Baba Baidyanath Temple

Vaidyanatha Jyotirlinga temple, also known as Baba Baidyanath dham and Baidyanath Dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is situated in Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand. It is famous for the mela of Shraavana which is held between July and August. About 8 to 10 million devotees visit the place from various parts of India and offer holy water of Ganges to the deity collected from Sultanganj, which is almost 108 km from Deoghar and Baidyanath. Although the name of the builder of the temple is unknown, parts of the front portion of it are said to have been built by Puran Mal, an ancestor of the Maharaja of Giddhour, in 1596.

05 – Pahari Mandir, Ranchi

The temple of Lord Shankara (Shiva) is situated in the heart of the city on a hill called Pahari Mandir. The temple is said to have powers of blessing its devotees with the desired wishes. The site of this temple also provides a bird’s eye view of the entire city of Ranchi. Its surroundings comprise different species of trees. A huge crowd of Shiva devotees gather here between the months of February and October, during Shivaratri and other important days earmarked to pray to the Lord. The Lord also known as Pahari Baba is worshipped in the form of a linga.

06 – Jagannath Mandir

Jagannath Temple in Ranchi, is a 17th-century temple which is famous for Lord Jagannath. It was built by king of Barkagarh Jagannathpur Thakur Ani Nath Shahdeo, in 1691 and completed on December 25, 1691, it is located about 10 km from the main town. The temple is on top of a small hillock.

07 – Patratu Valley

Patratu Valley is located in the Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. Patratu is a charming valley town which is popular amongst locals for its dam, which was built under the supervision of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya to cater to the water needs of nearby towns and villages. It has an average elevation of 405 metres. Patratu Dam was constructed under the planning of the greatest Indian engineer and father of Indian engineering, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.

08 – Tata Steel Zoological Park

Tata Steel Zoological Park is located in a corner of Jubilee Park, Jamshedpur. This zoo is also famous for its Safari Park which enables tourists to drive through the wooded area, where animals roam freely. Tourists can also visit the Nature Education Centre in the zoo, which gives information about the zoo animals.

09 – Hirni Water Falls

Hirni Fall is a good place to visit if you are driving along the Ranchi-Khunti-Chaibasa highway. The fall is approx 1 km away from the main highway. The height of Hirni Fall is 121 ft. Hirni falls is located at the edge of Ranchi Plateau and is a famous picnic hub. It is surrounded by dense forest. The view surrounding the fall is breathtaking which attracts tourists each year. Hirni is among the most visited places in Jharkhand.

10 – Maa Dewri Mandir

Dewri Mandir is a mandir located in Diuri village, Tamar near Ranchi. It is near to the Tata-Ranchi Highway. The main attraction of this ancient temple is, 700 year old murti of the Goddess Durga, Kali. The murti have 16 hands. It is an ancient Mandir and it was renovated a few years back.
